Monsoon!

Equestrian athletes watching as another torrential storm drenches the Equestrian Venue -
Thank goodness for the beautiful indoor arena and covered walkways.

Singaporean people are so friendly, always saying hello and asking "how are you?"  Where in other cultures we might ask each other about what the weather will do, here they often ask, "have you eaten yet?"

We have worked out this question is asked not only because Singaporeans have a renowned love of good food and want to make sure you are getting your share, but also because the weather is always the same!  Hot and humid or raining... and when it rains here it really rains!  The rain comes down in such quantities and so heavily that if you venture out in it, you are drenched in an instant. It generally cools things briefly but often after 10 to 20 minutes the rain disappears and everything dries out, almost as if it had never been.  The heat and humidity then returns and more clouds gather on the horizon.  At least it's easy to decide what clothes to wear each day - something cool, accessorised with an umbrella.
